This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit the Argentum website or use Argentum OS, Clipping Office, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). Argentum is designed around local operation, limited permissions, and human control.

01 Scope and roles

This Policy applies to information processed by the Service. It does not govern third-party services that you choose to connect, such as TikTok or another content platform; those services publish their own privacy policies and control their own processing.

If an organization provides your Argentum account, that organization may control information processed in its workspace. Contact the organization for its privacy practices.

02 Information we collect

Depending on the features you use, we may process:

  • Account and support information, such as username, authentication records, support requests, and communications.
  • Content and project information, including media files, transcripts, captions, project settings, approval decisions, and other material you submit or create.
  • Connected-platform information, such as an account identifier, display name, authorization scopes, tokens, content metadata, or publishing status, but only when you choose to connect a platform and authorize those permissions.
  • Technical and usage information, such as device and browser type, IP address, timestamps, error records, security events, feature activity, and service performance.
  • Local workspace information, including file paths and metadata for folders you expressly allow the downloaded app to use. Local files remain on the device unless a selected feature requires an upload or external provider call.

We do not intentionally collect passwords in readable form. Platform client secrets and access tokens are kept out of public browser code.

03 How we use information

We use information to provide requested features; authenticate users; analyze source media; create transcripts, clips, and caption drafts; maintain project history and approval records; operate authorized platform connections; secure and troubleshoot the Service; respond to support and rights requests; comply with law; and improve reliability and usability.

Where required, processing is based on performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Service, consent, or compliance with legal obligations.

04 TikTok and other connected platforms

Argentum does not access a platform account unless a user starts the platform’s authorization flow. The authorization screen identifies the permissions requested. The exact information processed depends on the products and scopes the user approves.

For a content workflow, this may include a platform user identifier, basic profile information, creator or posting capabilities, content metadata, and the status of a user-requested action. Argentum uses connected-platform information only to provide the feature the user selected, maintain the connection, display status, prevent abuse, and comply with platform requirements.

Users can revoke platform access through the platform’s own settings and, when available, Argentum’s connection controls. Revocation prevents new access but may not automatically delete information already required for security, legal compliance, or completed transaction records. A deletion request may be submitted through Support.

05 How we disclose information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose limited information to:

  • Service providers that perform hosting, storage, media processing, artificial-intelligence processing, security, analytics, or customer support under contractual restrictions.
  • Platforms you connect when necessary to complete an action you request and approve.
  • Your organization or collaborators according to workspace access and roles.
  • Authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

External AI providers are used only when enabled for a feature. Content sent to a provider is limited to what is needed to perform the requested task, subject to that provider’s applicable terms and settings.

06 Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including providing the Service, maintaining security and audit records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information, workspace settings, whether data is stored locally or in a hosted service, and whether an account remains active.

Local projects remain under the user’s control on the device. Hosted account data is deleted or de-identified after it is no longer required, subject to backups, fraud prevention, and legal retention requirements.

07 Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can limit information by not connecting optional platforms, revoking an authorization, changing workspace permissions, removing local files, or stopping use of the Service. Submit privacy and deletion requests through the Support page. We may verify identity and authority before completing a request.

08 Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including access controls, signed sessions, encrypted transport on hosted services, server-side secret storage, scoped local file access, and audit records. No system is completely secure, so users should also protect their devices, accounts, and source files.

09 International processing

Service providers and connected platforms may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Platform processing is also governed by the platform’s own terms and privacy policy.

10 Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Higher minimum ages may apply in some locations. Contact us if you believe a child provided information in violation of this section.

11 Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service, law, or platform requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required.

12 Contact

Privacy questions, access requests, deletion requests, and platform-data concerns can be submitted through the Argentum Support page. The production site will identify the responsible service operator and a monitored privacy contact before public submission.
